I've been a professional designer for over a decade. I started my career
by working with an in-house design team at a local college, while still
attending college myself. I learned so much more by working alongside
experienced designers rather than just sitting in a classroom. I learned
to work
effectively
as part of a graphic design team. While there, I designed flyers, brochures,
newspaper ads, posters, direct mailers, business forms, and business
cards. I also received the Gold Medallion of Excellence from the National
Council
for Marketing and Public Relations for a catalog cover design.
In 1997,
I became an art director for a local advertising agency. My career
there led me to a deeper understanding of the pre-press and print
world. I've also learned to work with many personality types and continue
to
be productive in any situation.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to do work

businesses as a freelance designer, designing both print and website

On a more personal note... My wife has put up with
me for 19 years and we have three wonderful children. We attend
a great church
in downtown
Knoxville. In general, I try not to take myself
too seriously and take
my design work very seriously. I love design, photography, and
art in general. I could sit around all day looking, analyzing,
and deconstructing old family
albums, the latest stock photos, or even cereal boxes. I've always
been drawn to art of all kinds, that's what makes me who I am.
